Waste not

I heard an aunt scold someone for leaving a light on when it was not needed, and began wondering what would actually construe a colossal waste. Assuming a light in every room, the average house would probably have around 10 illuminated lights at any given point in an evening. 15 seems like a lot, and 20, definitely a criminal wastage.

Actually 20 bulbs only consume as much energy in an evening, as your computer might if you left it running continuously through the day!

Say you work only say, 12 hours a day, 5 days a week, and turn your computer off after that, we could save enough energy to run your fridge and washing machine for the whole year.

So when you're not using your computer, just turn it off! Or at least put it on standby. It isnt always difficult to change the world. Try it out.
