Actually 20 bulbs only consume as much energy in an evening, as your computer might if you left it running continuously through the day!

Waste not
I heard an aunt scold someone for leaving a light on when it was not needed, and began wondering what would actually construe a colossal waste. Assuming a light in every room, the average house would probably have around 10 illuminated lights at any given point in an evening. 15 seems like a lot, and 20, definitely a criminal wastage.
Little drops..
So we've all heard whats wrong with the world today. From terrorism to global warming, from hate crimes to reality shows, there are a hundred terrible things unfolding, that we can only watch, helpless, right?
Not really. Even the greatest campaigns have originated from a simple idea, a simple action. Dont try to tackle it all at once. Just do what you can. Like energy conservation. Shutting your computer down when you're not using it can save enough electricity to light more houses. Or reduce the power cuts to your own house during summer when you need electricity the most.
Think simple, but ACT. Because even your smallest actions matter. YOU matter.
Want to change the world a little quicker?
Try this
1) Switching off your computer when you are done really helps; or even, just your monitor if you're on a break.
2) You can even configure your Power Options settings on the control panel to save energy when you aren’t using it.
3) Try an upgrade - an LCD monitor uses less than half that of the conventional monitor!
4) Use a laptop instead of a desktop – they use 30% the energy that a desktop does (plus they're cooler!)
5) Go green – buy computers that are energy efficient (psst: Some of these are really sleek)
6) Tell more people; Even get your boss to make it official
